The South Carolina Secretary of State, the Honorable Mark Hammond, has just bestowed Second Helpings with the prestigious “Angel” Award. Every year, the Secretary of State honors several charitable organizations as “Angels,” specifically nonprofit organizations which use at least 80 percent of their contributions for their charitable services, have been in existence for three years or more, make good use of volunteer assistance, and do not rely heavily on government grants or grants from other organizations. Second Helpings is honored to have won this award. (See the attached Form 990 for the details of our financial structure.)
