Your gift matters! Second Helpings will provide food to over 45,000 hungry people a week in the South Carolina Lowcountry this year. But we can’t do it alone! We rely on the generosity of people like you to help us help others through our food distribution program. No gift is too small; every donation makes a difference in a person’s life. For every $100 we receive, we are able to provide approximately $2,000 of food to people in need.
Second Helpings is a South Carolina Angel Charity
As part of enforcing of the Solicitation of Charitable Funds Act, the South Carolina Secretary of State each year chooses 10 charities to showcase their stewardship of the donations they receive. Second Helpings was chosen in to be showcased in 2013. A primary criteria to be designated an Angel Charity is the devotion of at least 80% of its total expenditures to directly to their charitable programs. We continued to use more than 80% of our donations directly to the accomplishment of our Mission. We encourage you to review our IRS 990 Annual Tax Exempt Form for our most recent year, 2014.
