Thank you to Hudson’s Seafood and All the Thanksgiving Guests Who Feasted at the Community Dinner

Special thanks to all the volunteers who made this year’s Thanksgiving Community Dinner such a huge success. We are also proud of Hudson’s Seafood House on the Docks and the Carmines who donate the remaining food to Second Helpings. The food was delivered to Hilton Head Island partner agencies on Friday, November 29. This year, for the first time, Second Helpings’ also received a portion of the proceeds. Thank you so much for FUNDING OUR FLEET of eight trucks that are used to pick up food from the local grocery stores and other donors and deliver the food to 57 agencies in Beaufort, Jasper and Hampton counties.

We are the only LOCAL agency authorized to rescue food from the grocery stores and prevent food waste. We supply 80 percent or more of the perishable foods distributed to those in our community facing food insecurity. Poverty lives here in our community. Our mission is to work with all the fine LOCAL agencies to fight hunger. What a lot to be thankful for!

Happy Holidays everyone. Thank you, Allan LaCoe and all his mighty volunteers.
