K-12 Food Rescue Program with Second Helpings stands ready with Women in Philanthropy

Women in Philanthropy, through the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, awarded Second Helpings a recent grant in support of the K-12 Food Rescue Program.  Once the children head back to the classrooms, we will begin our food rescue program during lunch hours.  It is estimated 40 percent of the food is wasted.  This past year, Hilton Head Island Elementary and Cross Schools participated in the program.  If you know of a school that would like to join in preventing food waste, contact Second Helpings.  Thank you, Women in Philanthropy members, for believing in this program.
