Residents Turn Out to Feed the Hungry
Giving to help the hungry was foremost on the minds of Hilton Head’s Port Royal residents June 18-19. Peanut butter, canned vegetables, pasta/sauce, cereal, and other nonperishable foods were donated at a food drive to benefit Second Helpings. The items totaling 2,000 pounds filled a truck and were then shared with food pantries in rural Beaufort County. More than $5,300 in cash/checks/gift cards also was contributed.
