Beaufort Resident Joins Second Helpings Board of Directors

Robert L. (Bob) Taylor was recently named to the Board of Directors of Second Helpings. Taylor has experience in business management, assessment, strategic planning, and business development in large and small companies.

 

Taylor began his career as a chemical engineer and rose to strategic planning, business development, and division CEO roles with Celanese Corporation, a Fortune 500 global chemical and specialty materials company.  After more than 25 years at Celanese, Taylor joined Rexam, where he led a group of six US and European-based divisions, and then served as the Chairman, President, and CEO of FYPRO and FYCON Technologies.  He is a University of Maryland Distinguished Engineering Alumnus.

 

In retirement, Taylor co-founded Sales Tax Assurance, LLC, a consulting company which helped Texas municipal governments increase sales tax revenues through improved compliance.  Taylor served as the President and CFO of the company, designed the technical software and business strategy, and led the growth of the company to multi-million-dollar revenues.  In 2017, he sold the company and moved to Beaufort.

Taylor has volunteered with Second Helpings since 2020, working with the Operations Committee to optimize food rescue information and reporting.  He is also a Beaufort truck volunteer.

Executive Director Marcus Tanner commented on Taylor joining the Board. “As a volunteer, Bob has transformed our data management and reporting.  His work is giving us better insight into our operations and helping us to identify opportunities to better serve our community.  I look forward to the continued positive impact that I know he will make as a board member.”
