A Very Special Truck Crew!

New Bluffton Sam’s Club General Manager Chris Kelly has been in his new role only a few months.  He was familiar with Second Helpings, as Bluffton and Hilton Head crews stop there a total of six times per week.  He also knew about the work we do from his predecessor, former Second Helpings Board Member John Franklin.

Kelly was intrigued. So one day, he asked to ride along to see for himself the impact that Second Helpings has on the community.

Paula Fanelly, Second Helpings’ Bluffton and Hilton Head Coordinator, spoke with Kelly after his experience.  “He learned more about Second Helpings and enjoyed meeting some of the agencies that benefit from Sam’s Club’s generosity,” she said.  “Like many other food donors, he is interested in learning where the food goes.” He was also impressed with the dedication – and the strength – of the Second Helpings truck crew he joined for the day.

Thank you, Chris and Sam’s Club, for your generous support!
