There are many ways that individuals, companies and community organizations can partner with Second Helpings to help us fight hunger and food waste. Here are some ideas to inspire your involvement.
Sponsorships
Advertise on a Second Helpings Truck
This is a unique opportunity to make a simple, powerful statement to your customers and the community that you are a strong supporter of giving back to build a stronger local community. Our trucks are on the road Mondays through Saturdays, generating thousands of impressions for our advertisers at a far lower cost than commercial advertising. The cost of appearing on six trucks is $2,500. We ask for a two-year commitment to avoid the cost of changing the graphics every year. Your organization can also be featured on two trucks for one year for $1,000. You can select the trucks working on Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, or the Greater Beaufort area.
Fund Our Fleet
Our major truck expenses include fuel, maintenance, tires, shelving and repairs. By selecting a donation below, you will be helping our trucks stay on the roads. We’ll send you a post card to let you know when your donation enabled us to keep our trucks on the road.
Sponsor a K-12 Program at a Local School
For a donation of $600, you can support one of the local schools participating in the K-12 Program. This is not a donation program, it’s a food rescue initiative.
$600 provides two sets of crates that school children will use to collect rescued food. We will put your logo or name on the crates to acknowledge your generous support.
Support Our “Share the Bounty” Event
“Share the Bounty” is our primary fund-raising event. Watch for more information about this year’s event!
Hold a Food Drive or Host a Fundraising Event
You can help us feed a neighbor and raise awareness of hunger in our local community by hosting a food drive or fundraising event. It’s a great opportunity to get to know neighbors, co-workers and club members, build teamwork, and have fun –while supporting a very worthy cause. If you’re planning on hosting a food drive or fundraising event, please let us know the details, and how we can help.
The Souper Bowl of Caring is held every year on the Saturday before the Super Bowl game.
Hold a Food Drive
Collect non-perishable food items from your friends, fellow members of your organization or fellow employees. Your donations will provide much-needed food for our Fill the Need Program, which provides food to workers who commute for several hours each day, and other areas of need.
Host a Fundraising Event
Companies and community organizations can display their commitment to fight hunger and food waste by sponsoring a fundraising event to benefit Second Helpings. You can reach a targeted audience, raise awareness for your charitable work, and support meaningful change in our local community.
We invite you to work with us on creating an event to fight hunger and food waste. The possibilities are endless!
“Our employees had a great time cleaning one of Second Helpings’ trucks inside and out. This provided an easy way to give back to our community.”
