There are many ways that individuals, companies and community organizations can partner with Second Helpings to help us fight hunger and food waste. We’d love to work with your organization to raise awareness and fight hunger locally. Just fill out the Community Event Form below, or give us a call at 843-689-3689. Here are some ideas to inspire your involvement: The Souper Bowl of Caring is held every year on the day before the Super Bowl game. Coligny Plaza restaurants and shops provide soups, chili, and other treats to patrons, while enjoying great live music.

Hold a Food Drive

Collect non-perishable food items from your friends, neighbors, or other members of your organization. We will deliver your donations to the food pantries, soup kitchens, family and senior programs that need it the most.

The Women of Indigo Run’s Community Cares organization holds two food drives per year for the Indigo Run community. They almost always fill our truck and donate funds to support food rescue and purchase supplemental healthy food for those in need.

Host a Fundraising Event

Companies and community organizations can display their commitment to fight hunger and food waste by sponsoring a fundraising event to benefit Second Helpings. You can reach a targeted audience, raise awareness for your charitable work, and support meaningful change in our local community. We invite you to work with us on creating an event to fight hunger and food waste. The possibilities are endless! The Women of Palmetto Bluff recently held a Chili Cook-Off to benefit Second Helpings. In addition to bestowing bragging rights on the winners of the best chilis of the evening, this generous group sold tickets to the event, obtained sponsorships and held a silent auction and a wine pull. We are beyond grateful for their amazing gift to us and the community. The merchants of Village at Wexford on Hilton Head Island designated Second Helpings as the beneficiary of their quarterly Wine Down Wednesday events in 2023.

Plan a Team Activity

Hold a team workday to benefit Second Helpings and the people we serve. It’s a great opportunity to get to know neighbors, co-workers and club members, build teamwork, and have fun – while helping to eliminate hunger and food waste in our community.

“Our employees had a great time cleaning one of Second Helpings’ trucks inside and out. This provided an easy way to give back to our community.” – Wells Fargo Advisors

Advertise on a Second Helpings Truck

This is a unique opportunity to make a simple, powerful statement to your customers and the community that you are a strong supporter of giving back to build a stronger local community. Our trucks are on the road Mondays through Saturdays, generating thousands of impressions for our advertisers at a far lower cost than commercial advertising. The cost of appearing on six trucks is $2,500. We ask for a three-year commitment to avoid the cost of changing the graphics every year.

Sponsor A Volunteer Appreciation Event

Our 468 active volunteers are the lifeblood of Second Helpings. They are also vibrant members of the community who like to patronize our supporters. Consider sponsoring a volunteer appreciation event! It’s a wonderful way to thank those who enable us to provide 54,000 meals per week for our neighbors who need food, those who work to build awareness in our community.
