Second Helpings is able to help thousands of people each week because of our donors’ generosity. Foundations, civic organizations, churches, thrift stores, and individual donors all support our food distribution programs.

Our financial partners help us provide much needed fresh and nutritious food to those experiencing chronic hunger or those newly pushed into poverty. People like Ralph N., who visits St. Andrew-by-the-Sea Soup Kitchen on Hilton Head is an example. Hear from Ralph:

“This is not your typical soup kitchen. This is a place I can eat a meal in peace and with dignity. I come for lunch when I’m in town for work. I travel from northern Beaufort County on a bus and I don’t make a lot of money. By eating lunch here, I can save some money and use it to pay for groceries and rent.”
