About Us
Second Helpings is a nonprofit food rescue and distribution network striving to eliminate hunger in the South Carolina Lowcountry. We collect and distribute food which would have otherwise ended up in landfills.
Our 468 volunteers supply 54 nonprofit food pantries, soup kitchens, family and senior programs in Beaufort, Hampton and Jasper counties. The food we rescue and the supplemental healthy food we purchase for our agency partners enables them to provide 54,000 meals every week to food insecure people in our community. Many of them work in the hospitality industry, making our paradise possible for local residents and visitors.
