We are pleased to announce that Merryn Mascaro, a native of Beaufort and a Second Helpings truck volunteer, has accepted the Beaufort Coordinator position and is off to a great start. She has customer-facing experience in several industries: as a server at Fishcamp in Port Royal; as a patient access representative at Beaufort Memorial Hospital; and as a shift manager at Rite-Aid in Beaufort.
Merryn holds an associate degree in paralegal studies from the Technical College of the Lowcountry. She is also a Notary Public.
When asked why she wanted to not only volunteer but work as the Area Coordinator, Merryn said, “I have always wanted to find a way to give back and do more for those in need, so I started volunteering. When I saw that Second Helpings was looking for a new Area Coordinator, I applied immediately. This was the chance for me to do more in the community I grew up in and love so much. I look forward to working with the volunteers and the community we serve.”
