Soup Kitchens on Hilton Head Island’s South End Will Merge and Expand Service in January

Tom Sharp of St. Andrew’s by the Sea (SABTS) made the following announcement on November 23 about merging and expanding service to the food-insecure on the south end of Hilton Head Island.  We are grateful to Tom, the SABTS and Grateful Hearts teams, and Holy Family Catholic Church for their efforts in helping to meet the need on the south end.

The south end soup kitchens, SABTS and Grateful Hearts, have worked out a wonderful and exciting plan to merge under the SABTS Soup Kitchen heading.  We will work immediately to pool our leadership, volunteer, and financial resources under an effort to better serve our families and neighbors on the south end.

Karen, Martha, Sueellen, Emmette, and myself will direct this effort.  We plan to start in January and will now have SABTS/Deep Well/ Second Helpings soup kitchen on Tuesday and Friday of each week.  We will have a meal and our Harvest Table both days.

As we all are aware both Second Helpings and Deep Well are very important partners in our new joint soup kitchen effort on the south end.  We appreciate your tremendous support and resource base for our efforts.

Blessings,
Tom
