fund truck operations for a month

Be a Donor of the Month for one or more of our trucks by funding their operating expenses. For $1,000, you can cover the fuel, maintenance, and insurance cost to operate a Hilton Head, Bluffton, or Beaufort truck.

HELP BUY A TRUCK

Our nine refrigerated trucks travel 90,000 miles each year –
that’s 3.6 times around the world!
We need to purchase one almost every year,
to replace a worn-out truck or to reach under-served areas where the food insecure live in our communities.

Including the value of rescued food, more than 98 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to hunger relief!

We are a South Carolina Angel Charity and we have a four-star (highest) rating and a 100% score from Charity Navigator.

We also have a Platinum transparency rating from Candid/Guidestar.

GIVE FROM YOUR DONOR-ADVISED FUND

A donor-advised fund is a charitable investment account to support charitable organizations that you care about. 

When you contribute cash, securities, or other assets to a donor-advised fund, you are generally eligible to take an immediate tax deduction. The contributed funds can be invested for tax-free growth, and you can recommend grants to any eligible, IRS-qualified public charity…like Second Helpings.

MAKE A GIFT FROM YOUR IRA

If you have a traditional Individual Retirement Account (IRA), you can make a gift to Second Helpings directly from your IRA and join our fight against hunger and food insecurity.

If you’re over age 72, these gifts may be 100% tax free and can help fulfill your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) requirement.
